BeyondBlue Interiors, a boutique in North Hills, specializing in modern, green furnishings, lighting, rugs, accessories, and art, is seeking a part time interior designer / sales associate to join our team.Combine your creative design talents with skills in sales to provide design solutions for our customers, both in the showroom and at in-home consultations. The position requires:
- ability to close sales
- customer care and service including interactions in-person, phone, and email
- visual merchandising and showroom upkeep
- must work well with customers to assess their needs, create a plan, share your vision via presentations, generate/close sales and place accurate orders. In addition, designers will follow orders to completion, communicating with vendors to ensure that orders are accurate and arrive on time, coordinate delivery, and address any problems that arise to ensure excellent customer satisfaction.
- space planning skills, recommendation of furniture styles, scale, placement, color, fabric and finishes to complement client’s home and lifestyle
- desire to learn about furniture construction, manufacturing, and multiple vendors
- ability to read and interpret architectural floor plans / blueprints
- work well with BeyondBlue design team and with other design professionals, architects, contractors, etc.
- ability to help move furniture in showroom
- helpful, but not required: graphic design skills to produce in store signage, online posts/ads, website upkeep and social media (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram). Excellent computer skills and ability to learn new programs. Programs used on the job include:
- QuickBooks
- SketchUp
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Email: G-Mail (Google Apps for Business)
- WordPress for the upkeep of website
- Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) is used by some members of our design teamQualified candidates have sales and retail experience and a degree in interior design or related design field. Must be efficient, reliable, personable, ambitious, positive, professional, take initiative, have a strong work ethic, good communication skills and excellent attention to detail. As a small company, each person on BeyondBlue’s team “wears many hats” and must be able to multitask.
This is a part time position beginning at about 20 hours per week.
